Serving Milwaukee, WI

SUVs, over the years, have come to be known as a symbol of status. They offer spacious interiors, more cargo room to fit everyone's travel bag and enough power to get you anywhere you need to be. The luxurious 2020 BMW X7 and 2020 Mercedes GLS are some of the most renowned models in the SUV class, and they deserve the acclamation considering all that they bring to the table.

Performance

The Mercedes Benz GLS comes with two engine options, the turbocharged inline 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine available on the GLS 450, which produces up to 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The second option is the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 483HP available on the GLS 580. Both engines feature a mild hybrid EQ boost system that provides an additional 21 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The BMW X7 offers three available engines including, a 6-cylinder engine that comes on the xDrive40i models, which produces 335 horsepower, a twin-turbo V8 producing 456 horsepower on the xDrive50i and a modified version of the V8 that comes on the M50i, which makes 523 horsepower. All engines come paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission on all-wheel drive. This power means you get a better ride on the road and helps the SUV handle and maneuver in any terrain in almost any climatic condition. A selectable comfort mode ensures a smooth ride by easing the air suspension, whereas the sport mode tightens them up to provide more stability on the road.

Interior

The X7 interiors are well thought out and made of quality materials. The car features a wide array of luxury tech features, including a panoramic sunroof, heated power-adjustable front seats, and ambient interior lighting. A second-row moveable captain's seat, which allows people to quickly and conveniently access the third-row seats.

The X7 comes loaded with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can also be controlled using a rotary knob installed on the center console. The infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android support, a Wi-Fi hotspot, built-in navigation, Bluetooth, and a wireless charging bay. The SUV also comes with a premium 10-speaker stereo audio system. The Mercedes GLS features a two 12.3-inch screen infotainment system installed with Apple CarPlay and Android support, USB charging ports, Aux-in port, and Bluetooth connectivity. If you are looking to get more tech features on your GLS, you might have to add a few bucks for the Executive package. This package comes with an additional 7.0-Inch tab mounted on the center to give your passengers access to radio controls, massage functions, and infotainment systems.

Fuel Economy

The EPA rates that the base trim of the X7 will earn 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, the V8 models will get up to 21 mpg in the city and 15 mpg on the highway. The top tier V8 50i also delivers an impressive 24 mpg combined. The entry-level model earns EPA ratings of 19 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the open road, and 21 mpg combined. These numbers are still pretty impressive but cannot compare with more economic X7.
