Serving Milwaukee, WI
Before you can pick out your next BMW sedan from our inventory, you need to understand the many differences between your preferred car’s model years. For the 5 Series sedan, the 2019 and 2020 versions are both mid-generation versions. Specifically, they are part of the model’s seventh-generation that launched in 2017. BMW made a few critical updates to the 2020 5 Series to set these two versions apart.
Performance
Comparatively, the 2020 5 Series has a few exciting updates at different trim levels. For example, the 530e hybrid for 2020 has a more powerful battery back that extends the range to 21 miles on all-electric power. Also, the M550i for 2020 gets a boost of 67 horsepower to give you 523 horsepower altogether.
Appearance
While exciting improvements are found throughout the 2020 5 Series, these updates do not extend to the exterior aesthetics. Every inch of the exterior continues to balance elite sophistication with confident elements masterfully. At the front, the upper unit that holds the signature BMW grille and the dual-elemental LED headlights has a stretched look. This look is mimicked through the lower front fascia and the foglamps. The 5 Series has a lowered, wide stance with a regal profile and long, straight accents through the sides. The exterior is also equipped with power-folding side mirrors and adaptive LED headlights.
Features
The interior features across the trims have been shuffled slightly between 2019 and 2020. Depending on the trim you are looking at, the 5 Series could have a sunroof, a navigation system, heated seats with leather and power adjustments, smart device integration, the iDrive interface, and a 10.2-inch touch display screen, and other equipment. Both model years are equipped with an excellent array of assistive safety technologies, including a lane departure warning, a forward collision warning, and more.
