Performance

Under the hood, the 2021 2 Series is available with two powertrain options. The 230i draws 248 horsepower from its I-4, turbo 2.0-liter engine. The M240i is an M-Performance version of the 2 Series with a 335-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter, V6 engine. For both versions, rear-wheel drive is included, or you can upgrade to all-wheel drive with xDrive mechanics. In addition, in 2021, both engines are paired with an eight-speed auto transmission or an optional manual transmission. For the 2022 version, the 2 Series has the same engines, but they have been revamped. The base-level engine now has a 255-horsepower output, and the superior engine now generates 382 horsepower. In addition, manual transmission is eliminated in 2022.

Appearance

In 2021 and 2022, the 2 Series is a sporty vehicle offered in both coupe and convertible body styles. The 2021 version has crisp, deep accents that run across the sides, a short and narrow grille, and stretched LED headlights topped by a solid LED light bar. The 2022 2 Series, on the other hand, has smoother side panels with a stronger definition on the bottom of the side panels. It also has a wider grille with reshaped, eye-catching headlights.

Features

The 2021 and 2022 2 Series have the same equipment at the two trim levels throughout the interior, but the 2022 version has upgraded materials for a more luxurious feel. Regardless of the model year, you select, you can appreciate features like Apple CarPlay, a keyless ignition, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, parking sensors, forward collision warning, auto-dimming mirrors, ambient interior lighting, a moonroof, and other equipment as you cruise down the road.
