Performance

There are four trim levels available for the 2023 and 2024 4 Series, and their powertrains are unchanged. The 430i and the 430i xDrive feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 255 horsepower. The M440i and M440i xDrive have a turbocharged 3.0-liter, V6, 382-horsepower engine. All of the xDrive versions have all-wheel drive. The other trims are equipped with rear-wheel drive. All 4 Series trims come with an eight-speed auto transmission. Some trims also benefit from a sport suspension, a sport differential, upgraded brakes, adaptive suspension dampers, and high-performance brakes.

Appearance

The head-turning style of the 2024 BMW 4 Series carries into the 2024 model year unchanged. It boasts a graceful profile with low ground clearance and sweeping accents across the sides. The nose displays a tall, slender grille. It pairs with double-scoop LED headlights and aggressive air intake ports. Exterior features may include a sunroof, heated and power-folding mirrors, 18-inch wheels or larger, neck warmers, and adaptive LED headlights.

The differences between the 2024 and 2023 versions are found inside the cabin. In 2024, the 4 Series introduces a 14.9-inch infotainment system screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, updated iDrive 8 software, voice commands, and a toggle shifter. In addition to the trim-specific feature differences, there are several optional packages available for the 4 Series.
