2023 BMW X5 vs 2022 BMW X5
Serving Milwaukee, WI
The midsize BMW X5 crossover has held its strong appeal with drivers in the Milwaukee area over the last several decades. With your gaze locked in on the 2023 X5, you may be thrilled to learn that four impressive trim levels are available. While the trim line has not changed, there are a few differences between the 2022 and 2023 model years to explore in detail.
Performance
Under the hood, the 2022 and 2023 X5 versions are unchanged. Three powertrains are offered. The lower two trims extract 335 horsepower from a turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine with an eight-speed auto transmission. A plug-in hybrid variation of this V6 engine is also available, putting out 389 combined horsepower. The sport-tuned option is a turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine. It is offered with an adaptive suspension and a sport exhaust. All-wheel drive is included for all trims.
Appearance
The impressive façade of the 2022 X5 is the same as the 2023 model year’s exterior. The aesthetics are easy on the eyes with well-crafted accents online, the hood and sides, and confident angles through the profile. The kidney grille on the front has vertical accent bars with metallic trim, and this trim is also on the 7-shaped air vents. The headlights have a unique quality, with two bulbs topped by a gorgeous ribbon of LED lighting. The sides have personality through an air vent close to the front fender and geometric definition across the rear fender.
Features
In 2022, the X5 was equipped with gesture control, which was eliminated for the 2023 model year. However, the 2023 X5 is available with a wireless device charging pad for the first time. In addition, select trims are now available with a head-up display as a stand-alone feature. For both model years, you could enjoy features like massaging front seats, leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon sound system, a surround-view camera, an automated parking system, a glass roof with LED lighting, a hotspot, a four-zone climate control system, and many other elite features.
