Performance

Three powertrains are offered for the 2023 BMW X5. The entry-level system is a turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine with 335 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid variant of this V6 engine is also offered, producing 389 horsepower. The top powertrain for the X5 is a turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that generates 523 horsepower. This option comes with an upgraded suspension system and numerous other performance enhancements. The 2023 X7, on the other hand, also has three powertrains. The 3.0-liter turbo I-6 engine kicks the line off and gives you 375 horsepower. A 523-horsepower, the 4.4-liter V8 engine is also available. The top powertrain is a 630-horsepower, sport-tuned V8, 4.4-liter engine.

Appearance

While these are both midsize crossover SUVs, the 2023 X5 and the X7 are visibly distinctive. They both have a tall yet tapered roofline and a gently cascading hood. They also have a bar-themed, segmented grille. The X5 has a slightly rounded nose with aggressive, LED-topped headlights. These headlights have a scalloped appearance defined by their lower LED light ribbons. The X7 has a larger grille with slit-like, angled LED headlights. The lower fascia has a unique, sporty look. This model also has chrome accents on the door panels and raised roof rails.
