The elite BMW X5 delivers the profound styling and remarkable engineering you expect from your next luxury crossover SUV. This midsize SUV introduces only one small yet meaningful update for the 2025 model. What should you know about the 2024 and 2025 BMW X5 crossovers as you prepare to finalize your purchase plans?
Performance
The X5’s performance capabilities are unchanged stepping into the 2025 model year. The first two of the four trim levels come with a 375-horsepower, six-cylinder, turbo 3.0-liter system. This is offered with your choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. A turbo V6 engine with a plug-in hybrid system is also available. It produces 483 horsepower and has a 40-mile all-electric range. A sport-tuned, turbo 4.4-liter V8 unit is the most powerful engine available that generates 523 horsepower. It has standard all-wheel drive and pairs with sports brakes, a sports exhaust, an adaptive suspension system, a sports differential, and a few other upgraded mechanical features.
Appearance
The 2024 and 20225 X5 are identically styled. They boast a tall roof to ensure ample space in the cabin. With a swooping, defined hood, the X5 has a premium, modern look. The lower sides, the air inlets near the front fenders, the kidney-shaped grille, and the framing near the front bumper have chrome accents. Modestly defined rear haunches accompany the brilliantly sculpted door panels. Select trim levels may come with 22-inch wheels, blue or red calipers, a hands-free liftgate, and heated side mirrors with a power-folding function.
Features
The main difference between the 2024 and 2025 BMW X5 crossover SUVs is the introduction of lane-change assist. This feature pairs with the available highway assist hands-free diving system and allows the driver to confirm the intention to change lanes with a visual cue. The X5’s other features are offered in both model years. Some of these are a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, leather upholstery, a push-button ignition, a wireless hotspot, a navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 14.9-inch infotainment system, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, remote engine start, embedded LED lights in the panoramic sunroof and others.
