2023 BMW X3 vs 2022 BMW X3

Serving Milwaukee, WI

The BMW X3 garners attention on Milwaukee-area roads with its captivating, sophisticated style. With its all-around enviable selection of features and smooth power behind the wheel, this small crossover is an appealing option for your next purchase. The 2022 and 2023 X3 crossovers are included in the model’s third generation, and there are only a few minor differences between them. Our BMW of Milwaukee North sales team is happy to show off their differences and help you select the specific X3 that is right for you.

Performance

Your on-the-road experience with the 2022 and 2023 X3 crossovers will be the same. Both are available with two powertrains in their three trim levels. The first two trims receive 248 horsepower from a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This is a rear-wheel drive system. With the addition of the Dynamic Handling package, you can take advantage of adaptive steering, enhanced braking capabilities, and an adaptive suspension system. The top X3 trim level for 2022 and 2023 is equipped with a 382-horsepower, 3.0-liter, six-cylinder with mild-hybrid tech. This trim level also has standard all-wheel drive. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed auto transmission.

Appearance

The style of the luxurious X3 holds steady across the 2022 and 2023 versions. The X3 has established BMW design elements, including the sectioned grille and the BMW logo mounted at the front of the well-defined hood. This grille boasts chrome vertical bars and is subtly separated from the elegant, double-scooped LED lights. The front end also has a sporty element, thanks to the commanding air vents that flank the bumper. While the roof is tall to enhance interior headroom, it is athletically tapered. The X3’s sides are styled with dramatic, linear accent lines at the top and bottom of the doors. For 2023, the Skyscraper Gray paint that was previously only available with the top trim is standard for all trims.

Features

The 2023 X3 has a few feature updates, including the removal of gesture controls for the iDrive system in the Premium package. In addition, all trims now have standard remote keyless entry. All other features are the same on a trim-by-trim basis. The first two trims come with a power liftgate, front and rear parking sensors, a three-zone climate control system, simulated leather material, remote vehicle monitoring, a navigation system, a wireless hotspot, wireless smartphone app connections, a 10.25-inch central infotainment system screen, and a digital driver’s panel. The top trim adds a faux leather dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, and larger display screens.
