What’s New for the 2024 BMW i4?
The BMW i4 was introduced in 2022, and it is a mid-generation version with an essential update for the 2024 model year. This all-electric sedan is closely styled after the 4 Series Gran Coupe, and it has the desirable styling and luxury features you expect from your new BMW. For the current model year, the i4 is available with the xDrive40 trim for the first time. This all-wheel drive sedan produces 396 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque from its two engines. The xDrive40’s range is 307 miles.
The other trims are unchanged. The eDrive35 has one motor mounted at the rear, and it generates 282 horsepower. Its range is 276 miles. The eDrive40 also has a rear-mounted, single-motor layout and produces 335 horsepower. It has a 301-mile range. The M50 is a two-motor, all-wheel drive vehicle that delivers 469 horsepower. However, the M50 has a boost mode that gives you 536 horsepower for a short period. Its range is 269 miles.
The exterior style of the 2024 BMW i4 has magnetic appeal with a slightly swollen, smooth hood and a fastback roof. The deeply contoured sides are accompanied by an angled accent near the front wheel that bends sharply before it streams across the sides. At the front, the tall, slender grille is accompanied by vertical and horizontal accent intakes. The premium headlights are pointed at both ends and have a dual LED bar design.
The new xDrive 40 has the same features as the eDrive40. Throughout the trim levels, some of the i4’s features are a sport steering wheel, a wireless phone charger, a head-up display, heated front seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control, a front cross-traffic warning, a power trunk lid, ambient lights, a 14.9-inch touch display screen, a sunroof, wireless connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, a keyless ignition, a heated steering wheel, a blind-spot monitor and numerous other features.
