Performance
In 2020, the X3 crossover is available with a twin-turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine at the base trim level. This powertrain puts off 248 horsepower, and it is tied to a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain. The X3 is also available with a BMW M twin-turbo I-6, 3.0-liter engine. It generates 382 horsepower, and it is linked to an intelligent all-wheel drive drivetrain. The other powertrain is a hybrid four-cylinder engine that offers 288 net horsepower, and it also is mated with an intelligent all-wheel drive drivetrain. All of these powertrains that are offered in the 2020 X3 are available in the 2021 version.
Appearance
With its small, athletic stature, the X3 exudes confidence from bumper to bumper, and its style is identical in 2020 and 2021. It has the smooth, prominent surfaces through its sculpted sides and hood that you expect from a BMW crossover SUV. It also has gold trim accents on the lower sides, skid plates in the front and rear, raised roof rails, and dual exhaust tips. Both the front and rear LED lights have a sharp, aggressive quality. The stretched foglamps that are mounted underneath the headlights sit on metallic accent pieces for an extra touch of personality.
Features
The primary updates that BMW has introduced in the 2021 X3 are in the cabin and safety features. Specifically, Android Auto is available in the X3 for the first time. Also, several advanced safety features have been introduced or have been elevated from optional equipment. In 2021, some of the BWM X3’s more innovative safety features are front and rear parking sensors, a lane departure warning, front collision mitigation, adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control, a heads-up display, a surround-view camera, and other gear.
