Two gas engines and a hybrid system are available for the 2022 BMX X5. A turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine produces 335 horsepower in the first two trim levels. It is combined with an eight-speed auto transmission and adaptive dampers. The hybrid system balances a turbo V6 engine with an electric motor to deliver 389 total horsepower. The top powertrain available is a sport-tuned, turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine. Paired with the same transmission and all-wheel drive, it offers 523 horsepower. The X7 has two powertrain options. These are the same 335-horsepower and 523-horsepower engines you will find in the X5. Both are combined with an eight-speed auto transmission and all-wheel drive.

Appearance

In addition to being the smaller of the two models, the X5 has a few standout traits. These two models have the same dual-part grille with a vertical bar pattern. The X5’s grille is accentuated with chrome, separated from the LED-enhanced, angled headlights. The X7 has a black grille that is integrated with its LED headlights. Both models have deep, scooped sides that express modern athleticism. The X7, however, has a crisp, angled personality line that runs directly above the metal-accented lower door panels.

Features

You can appreciate the same features in the X5 and the X7, but the X7 is available with a few premium extras. Both models have a Harman Kardon sound system, leather upholstery, a surround-view camera, an automated parking system, adaptive cruise control, a four-zone climate management system, a heads-up display, a navigation system, and more. The X7 is also offered with Bowers & Wilkins sound system in select trim levels, LED lighting in the sunroof, gesture control for the infotainment system, rear-powered sunshades, and other items.
